Then Joe Biden shot back with this gem, quoted from CNN---

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

I mean really, Bush broke the first commandment of US politics, partisan hackery ends at the water's edge. Outside the US, we are all Americans, not R's or D's. Second, before he starts attacking Obama, he really should look at what his Secy's of Defense and State are saying on the issue. Lastly, Bush should think before he speaks, or at least ask Condi to think for him.
Gates is right, but he works for the Demander in Chief (or Codpiece). I don’t necessarily agree that the SOB should fire him. Biden and the rest of these people in Congress should be waiting with handcuffs at the water’s edge for the SOB.

This is far from the first time this imbecile verging on traitor has broken that understanding that while we may fight amongst ourselves, that is our business and we unite at the waters edge.
I think this plays into Obama’s hands. It really raises the level of his candidacy to have the occupant of the highest office in the land go after him. And it surely shuts Hilliary out as Obama is propelled into the spotlight by this treachery. Now this is one of them their ‘permission slips’ we keep hearing about, but this is a big one. Now Obama can go after the big turd in the punchbowl, and that even kinda leaves the McCane character out of it while at the same time welding him to the SOB at the hip.
