With my apology to rdrover, and as my tribute to the Elaphant series, we should pull the articles together in the framework of the big picture.  Permit me to summarize:

There's Elephant poop in our living room, House Chamber and Senate Chamber.

Dubya and Darth Chainy are pitching it. Arlen is stepping in it.

And now the Elephant is giving out some bum poop in the Intelligence Committees? 

The American people are up to their necks in Elephant poop.

Can't someone please help us clean this mess up? 
  
One can only hope that the American voters are finally Pooped out, and we will clean House (and Senate) in the midterm election this fall.

Perhaps rdrover could extend the Elephant series with The Elephant in the Poop article making some suggestions on how we do that in view of the Jackass' inability to get off its Ass.
