I am prompted to write this article because a cyber friend told me that a Rabbi was the cause of the taking down of Christmas decorations in the Sea Tec Airport that services the Seattle Area. He demanded that there be a Jewish monument placed in the airport as well, and rather than argue with him, they took down the Christmas decorations. I checked this story, and according to the Seattle press, it is true. I am sorry that I do not know how to put links in this article to the Seattle press stories I found. (some include video) but I do notice that there is little press in the mainstream media.
I also note, that Mel Gibson's movie review of his new picture "Apocylopto", his rant about "Jews being th cause of all war" is still being placed in the article, even though in my opinion, a movie review and a drunken rant have nothing to do with each other. It seems to me that what Mr Gibson was doing when he got caught (drinking and driving) is much more dangerous than what he said in his drunken state.
I also remember our congress passing an almost unanimous resolution stating that the conflict this summer between the Israeli and Lebanese was a "defensive action" with very little debate. To me this act was not warranted in a conflict that supposedly did not directly involve the United States.
But most importantly to me, Former President Jimmy Carter wrote a book "Palistine: Peace not Aparteid" was criticized by almost all groups. Many accused his book of being "one sided" and full of "factual errors, copied materials, superficialities, glaring omissions, and invented segments", however, none of the accusations have been challenged or proven wrong by the accusers. Jewish groups have denounced the word "Aparteid" in the title by making sure it is linked to the racial seperation known to Americans as practiced formally in South Africa, and insuring that the uncorrupted meaning of the word is "diluted" in creative phrasing
And then, closer to home, and concerning the programme "Voice of Arizona" that I am sure you are all familuiar with, a guest from the ADL was on, and was unchallenged in his promotion of the "Jewish state". When a caller challeneged him, the guest, and to some degree the moderator, was impolite, not letting the caller complete a thought, and in some instances, even a sentance. Fianlly, the caller was "disconnected abruptly". Another caller, who was more friendly to the guest's views was "liked" by the moderator. Never in my listening of Air America had I heard a caller "abruptly disconnected" for any reason other than hate speech, excessive use of explicitives and or racial slurs, even if the caller and the host or guest had differing views.
In defending his book Former President Carter said "There is a tremendous intimidation in this country that has silenced our people. And it is not just individuals, it's not just folks who are running for office. It's the news media as well"
Do you all think this is true what Former President Carter said? Please note that I am simply asking about your feelings regarding this specific issue, and wish not to go on a tangent about whether Israel has a right to exist or not. I want to know, in your opinion, is the media, politician, and even individual AMERICANS biased so much toward Jews and the "political Israeli state" that they are afraid to see another side of any issue that may look at Jews in a negative light. Do AMERICANS bristle at any opinion expressed against Jews because they do not want to discuss or debate it? Are AMERICANS intimidated from true, frank debate on issued regarding Jews and the "State of Israel"?
Lets hash it out. In Peace.
Zanubiyah.

Carter’s book comes as the Republican Jewish Coalition is already waging a nationwide media campaign to convince Jewish voters that the Democratic Party no longer can be counted on to provide unflinching support for Israel.
"provide unflinching support for Israel."
Seems to me that the Republican Jewish Coalition is kind of proving Jimmy's point.
