My guess for both are
Rep. Portmann, for McCain - former Budget manager, smart guy on economy, he actually warned Bush about the deficit and inflation and the $'s value, back in 2002. McCain likes him, and he has no political future really; so for a sinking ship, none of the young up and comers want it, and McCain personally hates Romney and Huckabee.
Sen. Biden for Obama - he's the safest one, the press loves the guy, he's the one man in America that has the resume, and character to "be" the President in people's eyes. He's kind of like the Dems' Cheney, without the evil character, the pro torture, war mongering soul-less existence.
I'd prefer McCain to take Liebermann. It would show he is an independent minded man, takes his own counsel. He can't, but it'd be nice.
I'd like to see Obama take either Gov. Schweitzer - MT or Gov. Sebellius - KS or Gov Kaine - VA. They'd all reinforce his message of change, and are fresh faces. Sebellius triply so, she's a woman, and a former Republican

| Lierbeman definitely for McCain. I predicted that a year or more ago and see no reason to change my expectation on that. He salivates over McCain’s shoulder in just about ever photo-op. He looks like a grinning growth on McCain’s shoulder. And McCain likes him, and he has no political future really; so for a sinking ship …
I agree: Sen. Biden for Obama … He's kind of like the Dems' Cheney, without the evil character, the pro torture, war mongering soul-less existence. He would tear the bark off of Liarbeman in a debate, and he won’t sit still for the Greedy Old Party’s slum tactics. And he knows the workings of the senate. A very good interface for the presidency with the Congress. Unbeatable combo in my opinion! |

View this Comment My Two Cents, I too thought in the early days that Richardson would be the choice for Obama. He would certainly be a good choice for the country with his diplomatic and executive branch experience. I still think he would, but he has to get into the administration first, and he is so low key and accommodating that he would be run over in the general election by the Greedy Old Poops sewer tactics. He’s too nice a guy to win in such stinking political showdown.
My money therefore is on Biden for Obama. |
