I am placing this under Politics because that's what Earth Day is, a political movement. And not a very well run one at that.

Today is also the birthday of Nikolai Lenin, better known to you and I as Vladimir, former leader of the Soviet Revolution.  Interesting...

Anyway, so today I celebrated Earth Day by showing Mother Earth that I still believed in her power to roll with the punches. I burned some of the fuel that she has so unselfishly offered up. I then burned some of the energy that she has again given without regard to the nay sayers.

She's a tough old bird, Mother Earth.

As I was driving home I smoked two cigarettes, a cigar and ran my A/C to the hilt. She took it like an old pro. She gave me a place to live and I appreciate it more than she will ever know.

As I write this I am flooding my lawn. I don't have flood irrigation, I just want to celebrate her fantastic ability to replenish that which I use.

Excuse me... Honey, do we really need to run the A/C in the house until my eyes freeze up? Oh yes my love, it is indeed Earth Day.

Sorry for the interruption, my wife was celebrating Earth Day too.

So later tonight I will again turn all the incandescent bulbs in the house releasing massive amounts of unnecessary heat from the bulbs as most of it's energy is wasted as heat. She will again take care of it as she always does.

Yes I celebrated Earth Day today, and Mother Earth Celebrated Average American Day.

But what would I know; I'm just an Average American.

P.S, Isn't is kind of contradictory of the Democratic Party to have a Primary on Earth Day knowing that all of the country will be turning on the TV's to watch the results? And did either candidate on the DNC side fly anywhere today. That would be kind of a shame wouldn't it?
