Today as I was doing "show prep" I stumbled upon a rating on one of the sites I looked at.

It said the site was rated "Genius". It gave a link which I have supplied at the bottom of the page. I went there and started having a little fun. I took various sites that I visit from time to time and looked at their ratings. WOW! Was I surprised at some ratings and not on other.

I have no idea how they rate each site except that it indicates "reading level". But I do want to share a few things with you about what I found. You can verify each at the site.

First of all, this site, our beloved Voice, came in at a Junior High level.
This Blog is at a Junior High Reading Level.www.vona.com and www.voiceofarizona.com. I did both just to verify.

www.rushlimbaugh.com came in at "Genius.
www.mikemalloy.com came in at "Elementary School"
www.therandirhodesshow.com/live/ came in at "High School"
www.foxnews.com/ also "High School"
www.cnn.com/ came in at "Junior High School"
http://www.encyclopediabritanica.com/ is apparently so large that I waited for 3 minutes and got no reply so I moved on.
www.dccomics.com/mad/ the home of Mad Magazine came in at "High School"
www.nytimes.com/ came in at "High School" too
www.latimes.com/ came in at "Junior High"
www.yale.edu/ came in at "Elementary School."WOW! But I guess they want the dumb to come and be educated.
www.harvard.edu/ came in at "Genius"... ? I wonder if they are after a different kind of student than Yale.
Finally, I thought I would look at our candidates sites....?
www.hillaryclinton.com/?splash=1 "College" (Undergrad)
www.barackobama.com/index.php "Genius"
www.johnmccain.com/  "Junior High School"

And some who didn't make the cut...

www.ronpaul2008.com/ "College" (Post Grad)
www.dennis4president.com/ (Kucinich) "High School"
www.mittromney.com/ "elementary School"
www.johnedwards.com/ "Genius"

So at the end of the day this means nothing. It is more the ability of their webmasters and bloggers than the candidate themselves. But it is interesting.

In reviewing I thought Kucinich's would have been higher, but I have always thought Malloy's followers were idiots. I was wasn't surprised to find Limbaugh so high but was to find Yale so low.

But anyway, I thought this might be fun for some folks out there to visit their favorite sites and see where they fall in area of educational level needed to understand them.

I think we can bring Voice up, don't you?

Here's the site where I did all this...

But what would I know, I'm just an Average American.
