The AIP was founded by Joe Vogler who said that he had no use for American and her damned institutions, so I think it is safe to say that the AIP is full tilt to independence.
Some say that the AIP is a harmless political party....that they advocate peaceful means to achieve their unlikely objective.
Not so much.
Back to "ole Joe Vogler" who said this: “My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”
And this:
When the [federal] bureaucrats come after me, I suggest they wear red coats. They make better targets. In the federal government are the biggest liars in the United States, and I hate them with a passion. They think they own [Alaska]. There comes a time when people will choose to die with honor rather than live with dishonor. That time may be coming here. Our goal is ultimate independence by peaceful means under a minimal government fully responsive to the people. I hope we don’t have to take human life, but if they go on tramping on our property rights, look out, we’re ready to die.”
During a Gubenatorial debate, Vogler advocated "nuking the glaciers" to open a passage and because there was "gold under there."
In 1993, Joe Vogler was to address the United Nations on Alaskan Independence. He found a sponsor for his appearance. Who was that sponsor nation? IRAN. Yep. THAT IRAN.
Old Joe died in 1993 before he could give his speech. The details of his death are mysterious. The convicted murderer first claimed it was due to a plastic explosive deal gone bad, but later recanted that story, saying it was a simple robbery.
Where does Sarah fit into this? Well, her husband joined the party in 1995, just 2 years after Vogler's death and remained a member until 2002. The mission of the AIP remained the same. Sarah has either attended or given addresses to their conventions in 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2008, giving them encouragement and God's blessings. Mark Chryson, the AIP Chairman in the 1990's says “Every time I showed up her door was open and that policy continued when she became governor.”
Some members say that Sarah was a member including the husband of the current AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark.
Per Dexter Clark:
“There’s a joke — she’s a pretty good-lookin’ gal — there’s a joke around, that we’re the coldest state with the hottest governor. And there’s a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member, before she got the job as the mayor of a small town. That was a nonpartisan job. But to get along to go along, she eventually joined the Republican Party, where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics … And she’s pretty well sympathetic, because of her former membership.”
This is what AIP Chairwoman Lynette Clark tells us about Sarah:
“I’ve admired Sarah from the first time I met her at the 2006 (AIP) convention,” Palin also addressed, says Clark. “She impressed me so much. She’s Alaskan to the bone; she’s a damn good gal.
“As I was listening to her, I thought she sounds like we’ve been saying for years. I thought to myself, ‘My God, she sounds just Joe Vogler.’”
Sarah Palin finds America so imperfect that she wants us to lose 1/5 of our land mass and, if you believe her, over 20% of our energy supplies.
That is NOT change we can believe in.
