was not just a pretty face; he was a man of the people.  Paul Newman died at his home in Connecticut; he was 83.

Throughout his great career he used his celebrity to call attention to those in need; he marched for civil rights, and quietly gave away much of his fortune.  The Newman's Own salad dressing, first produced for a lark, and the many others, like his popcorn, proved to be very popular and the multi-millions earned from this venture were all given to charity.

He was  a great actor;  however, driving and owning race cars was his real passion.  Being convinced that this is the only life we get, he chose to live his way; and, it was well done.
