Two weeks ago I did not know that the McCain immigration bill was going to be met with some compromise, nor did I know at the time that Russell Pearce, the Chair of the State House's Appropriations Committee was going to call on Senator John McCain to step down for missing so many votes in the U.S. Senate. At that time I was thinking Representative Pearce would be a lively guest to have on to talk about the immigration situation and possibly whatever happened to our bililon dollar surplus from last year that I wanted handed back over to the people.
So I booked him for this Sunday's www.VoiceofArizona.com Show on AM 1100 KFNX at 6:00 pm.
A wide gap is beginning to grow in the Republican Party with people like Senator McCain on one side and people like Representative Pearce on the other side.
"I'm concerned. We've got some major votes going on in the Congress, the Senate. These are times we need a senator. Arizona elected a senator to be there. If McCain wants to be a full-time candidate for president, then he ought to consider resigning." Russell Pearce

If McCain steps down it will be Gov. Napolitano who picks his replacement. When pressed if this would be a better than McMcain Pearce replied, "Even poor representation perhaps is beter than no representation."
Representative Pearce is a firestorm when it comes to immigration. He called Senator Kyl on the carpet for his recent motions prior to the vote saying" He promised us he wouldn't do that, so to side with Ted Kennedy on this issue is a slap in the face to everyone who stood up and fought and supported him." He even went so far as to suggest that Kyl should be "fired from that job" if he votes for an immigration compromise bill that includes a path to citizenship.
I hope to hear from both liberal and conservative voters this Sunday. This is your chance to talk directly to one of your elected officials about your thoughts on McCain, immigration, even state spending.

| AA, if I can, I will try to catch this show. I honestly think that I can find some common ground with Russel Pierce - albeit for different reasons - on the issue of immigration and on McCain's/Kyl's fitness for office. I had a half hour phone call with the guy who follows your show - John Daly? - two weeks ago, when he tried to pick up the ball for Pullen and answer my tax question to the Chairman. I was impressed that Daly would preempt whatever he might have already prepared for his show, and spend most of the first hour delivering an attempted answer in monologue form. Our subsequent phone conversation actually proved that "common ground" can be found with people who are willing to talk and listen to each other. |

| And you gave William s*** for using this forum to promote his candidacy for the House. Hope you get more calls than that Russia show (0). I quit listening after that. But while you are at it with Pearce, ask him if he is going to sign Leonard's/William's recall petition. Sure sounds like he is ready. Tell ya what. You promise to ask him that, and I will tune in and call in. |

| Indie and MIC, I doubt Leonard will come down. He won't even call me back as he promised to after we talked. I have little faith in him but this isn't about his recall, it's about how far the GOP has become divided on this very important issue of immigration and how little we expect from our elected officials as they seek higher office. Indie, I'll have him on if anyone wants to ask him that question. In closing, I am pushing the voiceofArizona show on the voiceofArizona website. This should not surprise anyone Indie. AA |

| I agree AA. I don't see anything wrong with using Voice of Arizona to tell us about and promote your upcoming shows, particularly when you have actually landed a newsmaker to be a guest. It's entirely appropriate. What would be inappropriate would be to write an article about how one of your already aired shows was "one for the books." It would be one thing to write an addendum for one of your past shows, adding content you didn't get to during the broadcast, or an epilogue to keep us abreast of events related to a previous show topic, but a rave review of one's own performance never plays well. Now let me be your Tom Carter for a moment, seeing that he his is on leave. You have Leonard's phone number. Why don't you call him and ask him to at least consider calling in during your show to ask Mr. Pierce if he would sign his petition. That would be the one of the oddest political alliances of strange bedfellows around if Pierce said yes, and your show would be where it was forged. Imagine if that hit the papers! That kind of publicity never hurts. |

| Well William, Please forgive my oversite. I was unaware of your official status as campaign manager. I was only aware of your status as treasurer of the recall campaign. Would you be so kind as to ask the candidate to contect me tonight so that I might extend directly to him an invitation to call into the show that is open to all. MIC, I don't think asking Leonard is really right of me. I am to be neutral in all this remember. Certainly if Leonard wishes to call I will take his call as I do any other. AA |
