This morning my fiancee and I decided this would be a good day to use one our Christmas presents. That present turned out to be one of the greatest eating experience we have found in the Greater Phoenix area. I found it incredible that for only $17.00 we were able to eat a breakfast complete with Country Fried Steak and Eggs, a huge side order of Country Fries and a side of toast (my fiance's meal) and a Rib-eye Steak and Eggs, Country Fries and Toast. Both of us had drinks and still left for under $20.00.

The staff at the Peoria Cafe is the friendliest in town. Located at the corner of 83rd Ave and Peoria, this is the largest small restaurant in town. The owner Najett (and I do hope I spelt that correctly) was as sweet as any woman you could ever hope to meet and our server Christie was attentive without being overly intrusive. Service was prompt and all meals are served with a smile you can take with you when you leave.

And the food. Oh Lord, the food. The Rib-eye was perfectly seasoned with black pepper and cooked to perfection. I consider myself something of an expert on Rib-eye Steaks and this was every bit as good as any I have tasted at three times the price. The Country Fried Steak and Eggs was more than my fiancee could handle, taking up every square inch of the enormous plate and dwarfing her petite stomach's desires. The daily specials include $1.99 breakfasts and $2.99 lunches. Those lunches even come with a desert. Unbelievable!

As a side note we watched as one of the cooks came out from the back to talk and laugh with some of the other patrons bringing a joy to their eating experience you just don't find anymore in any cafe. In addition to the great staff, the Cafe also sells interesting lighthouses and other novelties that will make great Christmas gifts next year.

If you are on the west side of town and get the chance, go and enjoy an unworldly breakfast or lunch for a great price. If you live on the east side, make a road trip and then be jealous that this great eatery isn't closer to you.
