When I was a kid my grandma gave me a three foot long blow up brontosaurus toy from a very popular filling station in the 1960's. The name of this full service gas staion was "SINCLAIR". Now I knew there was still a SINCLAIR station, in Flagstaff! And in Utah! But today as I was driving down Glendale avenue at the Seventh street intersection . . . low and behold, there was that ancient nice white sign with the big green dinosaur looking back at me. The price per gallon may have been a few pennies higher than what I pay over here on the far west side, but I will pay it!!! This gasoline is strictly American. No cash going into the pockets of some arab prince. No blood of our young soldiers being spilled in exchange for it! PURELY AMERICAN OIL. And I do believe the story goes that the owner of this fine establishment opened it after his own moving experience of having served in Iraq! I will go out of my way to patronize this business. As far as I can see it is strictly a win/win for everybody involved (except Saudi Arabia)

| I am putting this back on the front page so it is easier for the owner of the Sinclair station to find. I invited him to come and put his sayso in . . . maybe he will, maybe he will not . . .

| Too bad there isn't one on the East side. I remember reading that Sinclair sells gas derived only from domestic sources of oil (or perhaps it was Western hemisphere oil). I recall that there were a few other gas stations that do the same, but I'm not sure which ones. Sunoco and Arco come to mind, but that's just a guess. Anyone know?

| Prom, In my hometown, there is only one gas station that looks exactly the same as it did when I was growing up in the 60's/70's. Sinclair. On the Main Drag. We used to hang out there on Saturday nights until the police came and chased us away. Something about the green dinosaur still makes me smile. |

| Yup. But while it is laudable and the right thing to do, it is unfortunately a drop in the bucket. We don't have enough home grown or even Western Hemispheric petroleum to begin to feed our appetite. We Americans are gas hogs, and the day of reckoning approaches on the horizon of world events. |

| Whatever day they are trying to do the gas boycott, we should all buy it from Sinclair. Imagine the image of gas lines when there is no shortages while the Sinclair family makes a ton of money in one day and the big guys sit on their asses watching as we sit happily in line when there is a perfectly good station with full tanks and empty parking lots across the street. I would happily put the $70.00 bucks to fill the tahoe, the $40.00 for the wifes car and the $40.00 each for the two kids cars ($190.00 total) (s*** the math on that just pissed me off, I remember when we had two cars and gas was a buck fifty, it was more like $70,00 for the week) into the pocket of an American business that in no way pays any of it to the Saudi's, the Iranians, the Iraqi's, Argentina or any other source that is outside the states. That I believe would make a much larger impact than simply not buying gas for a day. It would show that we the people still have the power to pick the winners on an issue other than Americna Idol. We do this once a week until the prices go back down. Just an idea, but I'm no activist, just ask MIC. |

| Nice sentiment AA, except with one Sinclair gas station for a town of 4 million, the lines will be pretty long. That's the problem with always waiting for the "free" market to work it out. |

| my old man just sent me this e-mail so i cut and paste it for ya's WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA-GAS WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA-GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON-- Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia.. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil. These companies import Middle Eastern oil: Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil..............130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway..117,740,000 barrels Amoco..........................62,231,000 barrels Citgo Gas comes from South America , from a Dictator who hates Americans. Do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (Oil is now $90-$95 a barrel) Some of the Citgos are being renamed to Petro Plus The latest price is a record high ($105.00 a barrel) Here are some large companies that DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil: Sunoco.................... 0 barrels Conoco................ 0 barrels Sinclair................ 0 barrels BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels Hess................... 0 barrels ARC0. ............... 0 barrels Also: Pilot, Flying J, Love's, RaceTrac, Valero All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.. Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! < B> If it goes one level further, you guessed it ..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days! Okay! I sent mine!!! |
