To date, I have complied 75 articles on this site with this being my 76th. Many of you have deduced from some of my writings that I am this or that. I felt compelled to clarify a few things about myself and my stance on certain issues. I hope that this can be accomplished in only three volumes, but it might take more.
This is Volume One of the Average American Tenets.
1. The Government of the United States of America is ill suited for its current role as father figure and provider for the masses.
1a. Many times over the last 50 years the government has set out with the purest of intentions to eradicate a problem only to deepen or worsen the problem. Cases in point: Social Security and Welfare.
1a1. Social Security was created during the Great Depression from an amalgamation of different state run programs to help the poor and infirm elderly populations. It was never designed for the numbers of people who currently receive benefits from the program. It was never designed to allow for survivor benefits to underage children of deceased parents nor for drug addicts who could not work due to their “illness”. Although modified several times over the decades to accommodate these recipients, it can not be sustained in its current or any other form. There simply are not enough people paying in for the growing number of recipients and at some point in the very near future the system will simply have to be scrapped or the tax rate for SSI will have to become so large that it bankrupts the nation as a whole.
1a2. Welfare was created out of same desire and obligation we have as a united people to assist those most in need. The system has been bastardized over the decades since LBJ first championed his idea of the Great Society allowing for families benefiting from the systems to raise their incomes by simply increasing the number of mouths they have to feed. It also shifted focus away from the entire family unit and began to concentrate on the single parent family which most of the time reflected a mother and children. In these cases, early on in the programs life, it began to de-emphasize the importance of the two parent home thus leading to a change in the way society as a whole viewed the situation. Fathers, it was determined in many minority communities began to be fazed out of the equation all together as mothers discovered that the state would step in and fill that role as father and provider. This in and of itself has lead to an increase in poverty and minority children having a less advantageous start in life.
2. The Constitution of the United States has been usurped leading the states to take on a secondary role in governance and responsibility to the masses. Cases in point: Education and Infrastructure.
2a. Education according to the Constitution is the sole right and responsibility of the many states, yet today the Federal Government has taken control of our schools thru extortion. If the states do not offer certain classes or provide these classes in accordance with the Federal Governments requirements, financial aid for education will be affected. This covers everything from sex education to score rating systems to final exit examinations designed in partnership with the Federal Government. In addition, the Federal Government has acquiesced a percentage of its power to the Teachers Unions who have the as their main interest the teachers and not the students.
2b. The Infrastructure of the United States of America, while being the financial responsibility of the states though the various Departments of Transportation in each state, is dictated to some degree by the federal funds available to each state. These funds from the federal coffers are awarded based on a number of criteria, ranging from requirements that the state recognize Federal Holidays and to the speed limits in each state.
3. Conservatism is not Racism, nor is it Homophobic or Bigoted.
3a. The idea of holding all races, religions, creeds, colors and sexual orientations to the same very high standard and then requiring them the achieve these standards is the very definition of tolerance, acceptance and equality. To lower a test requirement on a race of students is to suggest that they are not able to perform at the same level as the others for whom a higher score is required. If this alone was changed the implied need liberals have for quotas would disappear due to all applicant being of the same caliber of education not reflective of their race if not yet with the same experience or time on the job. In every race, social economic class or educational level of achievement you have those who outperform others. This is the level playing field to which the Civil Rights Movement of the 60’s was dedicated.
3b. Insisting on providing others with your sexual orientation is to flaunt in their face the fact that you are not desirable of being considered equal to others. Heterosexuals do not make a habit of openly discussing their orientation through marches, bumper stickers or rallies while demanding to be held equal in the eyes of the law. To fire a person based on sexual orientation is wrong, but so is insisting that everyone know that you are homosexual. It does not matter who you are involved with in your personal life, it is your personal life and should have no bearing what so ever in your professional aspirations.
3c. Bigot as defined in the dictionary: “One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ”.
Intolerance is the key word in this definition. If looked upon from a purely technical viewpoint, any person can be called a bigot. Where you live, what you drive, where you shop, where you eat; all of these things can be used to identify you as a bigot. However, the fact that you like to be around people in church who believe as you believe, that you shop in a store that sells the things you and other like you desire, if you live in a community that is predominately one race or another, does not by default define you as a bigot. It means you share an affinity for similar lifestyles, nothing more. Bigotry along with Racism is usually defined by people as a solely Caucasian state of mind and is usually played under the auspices’ of employment and job termination. The very tenets of Conservatism stand in stark opposition of this idea. Conservatism is by its very nature in search of the very best regardless of Race, Greed etc. and is dedicated to providing leadership and training to all peoples to assist them in climbing up the social economic latter to success.
I shall continue this as I feel the urge to do so.
But what would I know; I’m just an Average American.

I agree that the viewpoints are those that AA has expressed in the past. However, if you go back and look at the writing style (from spelling, grammer, etc) of AA's other articles, and compare to this one, you can see a significant difference. AA, if this is truly your work, I apologize. If not, come clean because you will be found out and everything you write from hereforth will be diminished.

Your article could be considered to be well written but I disagree with you one several points: I believe that your Republican Party is racist, homophobic, and is bigoted in polocies they seek to enact. Just a short reason why I believe this and I will get out: the marriage amendment is direct to same sex marriage-this has nothing to do with man laws but religious law hence there is no separation of church and state. Man and woman needs to clean up their own marriage ration so that success rate is better than 50%. Thirdly, the number of assault between men and women needs to address also. Bigoty and racism can be address in one way:illegal people in our country and the way that some want to solve the problem. Is this problem only be directed at Mexicans and other nationality? I will answer that: YES. The solution that a majority of white want: put up a 700 mile plus wall, fifty feet high, at the mexican border only. What about up north? This is both racist and show bigoty. I know that I don't know what I talking about but that the way it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not cut-n-paste, this is regurgitated right wing radio vomitous half truths and historical distortions. Everything in your tenets confuses the cause and effect, and Republicans always lack the understanding of where the cart and horse get hooked up. AA- There simply are not enough people paying in for the growing number of recipients and at some point in the very near future the system will simply have to be scrapped or the tax rate for SSI will have to become so large that it bankrupts the nation as a whole. the studies showing the insolvency of Social Security make 3 assumptions; 1- Longer life expectancy of Baby Boomers (the people who brought us sex, drugs and rock and roll, the least healthy, most poisoned generation ever) 2- Immigration into the USA slowing to a trickle. ANyone here in AZ seen any evidence of that? 3- Economic growth rates starting in 2012-13 of 1.5% for 5 decades, which will be worse than the Great Depression, every decade for, 5 decades! I guess they are betting on Dubya being El Presidente for life. Welfare- What has destroyed poor America has been the race to the bottom for cheap labor, first moving jobs from New York, Ohio, & Penn, to Arizona, Florida, & Miss. and now thanks to NAFTA, and WTO moving jobs to China, Vietnam, the Phillipines, and Mexico. In fact, because of rising wages in Mexico, jobs are fleeing Mexico for Asia now. And as incomes keep dropping for the poorest 40% of Americans, yes, husbands and fathers become less valuable! As evidenced by smaller incomes! AA- The Constitution of the United States has been usurped leading the states to take on a secondary role in governance and responsibility to the masses. What Rush and Reagan, and all Republicans really hate about what has happened with the US Constitution goes back to Brown vs the Mississippi Board of Ed. When separate but equal was made unconstitutional, when laws against condoms and abortion were overturned, thats when Republicans began to hate the US Constitution as a "god damn peice of paper", Geo Dubya Bush. As for laws funding Education from the Feds, those funds are to be used on specific programs with the goal of providing better opportunites to all children. Like the free lunch programs, or teacher training programs. As for what Bush did with No Child Left Behind, increasing the costs to a school by 2 million, but only funding 1 million, yeah that sucks. As for Teacher Unions, their primary concern is the students, and the best way to provide the students a good education is to give them good teachers. And the best way to get the best teachers (I learned this part in economics) is to offer a better wage, better benefits, and provide the teacher a work environment where they recieve the respect they are due. The disrepectful way Republicans bash teachers and their unions wouldn't fly 2 seconds in Germany, I can tell you. Your kid would be expelled for insubordinate behavior and having unruly parents, and then you'd be paying 6 to 8 grand in Euros for private school, outta your own pocket, and in private schools in Germany teachers tolerate no BS! More AA- The idea of holding all races, religions, creeds, colors and sexual orientations to the same very high standard and then requiring them the achieve these standards is the very definition of tolerance, acceptance and equality. Well, here's my analogy on this- Lets sya you have a race, a 400 meter race and you have one group who you have tied rope to their ankles, with 5 pound anchors attached. Now, you're arguement is, its 400 meters, its a fair race. My arguement is the group who have been held down with shackles placed on them by the laws and customs of this country can you use a helping hand to redress the evils of the past. Now there are many ways of doing this- here in AZ, college admissions to ASU, UA, and NAU are based on rank in your high school graduating class. You are guarunteed admission to ASU, or UA if you finished in the top 25% of your class, and NAU its 40% (these numbers are on old memeory). ANd you get free tuition to ASU and UA if you were in the top 5%, and NAU top 10% of your high school class. This does an end run around the racist school districts that were drawn up to keep negro/black/African American students out of White schools, and lets Blacks, and Hispanic kids still get into college, based on their ability to achieve in the school they attended, and not solely on a test score.

Phaedrus, You sparked my interest. How much more should we spend on education? We spend more money per student than any other country on earth and our scores keep falling in comparison to those other countries. Money is not the answer. Those funds should be retained by the states to provide a better education by hiring competent teachers and dismissing those who have either lost the ability to teach or worse, have had their jobs vertually turned into life time appointments through tenure. Again, this is a state right. As the 10 amendment makes clear...powers not delegated to the federal government belong to the states or the people. This seems simple to me. And these are not the RNC talking points, they are in fact the very essence of being a conservative. While they might jive with the RNC in substance, they are not from or based on anything they hold. I am a conservative first, a Republican second. Should the RNC ever veer too far from what I believe, as the Democratic Party years ago to Reagan and others, I too shall find a new affiliation. Indie, I accept your appology. No doubt my style has changed somewhat since I started writing. I like to think I am getting better at expressing myself. Please feel free to search out these tenents anywhere on line. They are as an idea not new, however I assure you they were written from this computer keyboard from my mind alone. Conceptually they may by simular to other things you might find, but they are in fact from me.
