To Wit:
This picture of Obama giving a speech in Ohio was meet with alarm by the unhinged righties:
My God, they said. Obama, (the Muslim) had co-opted the American flag and made it his own. Look, he made the stars a Big O!!
That flag is actually the Ohio State flag. The "O" stands for Ohio (helpful hint for 2 cents)
Then there is this intellectual giant:
Probably the same guy yelling out "terrorist" and "kill him" at McCain/Palin rallies.
Speaking of another intellectual giant, Sarah Palin said yesterday that it was good to be in "Pro-American parts of the country." As opposed to Alaska, her home state, where at the very least her husband was part of a anti-American party and she attended or addressed that parties conventions multiple times.
But last night, I knew that the right had completely lost it. Michelle Bachmann, Minnesota Congresswoman, called for the national media to investigate members of Congress to find out who was "Anti-America." Her appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews was jaw-dropping. So I waited until this afternoon to hear the outcry from the righties, refuting Ms Bachmann's comments. So far, nary a peep.
And Nancy Pfhotenhauer, a McCain flack said that northern Virginia was not part of real Virginia because Obama was winning in the northern part of the state. Yikes!
Today, I heard Fox News anchor Greg Jarrett (a tool if there ever was one) say that all the economic news was melodrama, and if we just ignored it McCain would have a chance. Seriously, are we really back to the Phil Gramm "nation of whiners" approach? Because I was doing some serious whining when I opened my 401K statement this week! I was probably even melodramatic!
The GOP is unhinged by the supposed ACORN fraud. Please refer to June's excellent articles about that false accusation.

But here is a REAL voting issue.
Virginia Matheney and Calvin Thomas said touch-screen machines in the county clerk's office in Ripley kept switching their votes from Democratic to Republican candidates.
"When I touched the screen for Barack Obama, the check mark moved from his box to the box indicating a vote for John McCain," said Matheney, who lives in Kenna.
Calvin Thomas, 81, who retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood in 1983 and now lives in Ripley, experienced the same problem.
"When I pushed Obama, it jumped to McCain. When I went down to governor's office and punched [Gov. Joe] Manchin, it went to the other dude. When I went to Karen Facemyer [the incumbent Republican state senator], I pushed the Democrat, but it jumped again.
"The rest of them were OK, but the machine sent my votes for those top three offices from the Democrat to the Republican," Thomas said.

Now there is something to be unhinged about!
Wake up Righties. George Will, Kathleen Parker, David Brooks and Christopher Buckley are sick and tired of this nonsense. Newspapers who rarely, if ever, endorse Dems for President are coming out for Obama.
The bottom line is that you have allowed, and even encouraged, the nutjobs to screw up your party, the country and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Put an end to this nonsense and focus on the issues that face this country and our place in this world. Otherwise your party is going to be relegated to the dustbin of history.

The ATMs I use are Diebold machines. Bank ofAmerica relies on them to function properly and I have never been short-changed or overcompensated by one.
Diebold has been the manufacture of a large proportion of the voting machines that have been questioned. If Diebold can make an error free and secure ATM machine to handle our money, why can it not make an error free and secure voting machine to handle our enfranchisement?
What’s that you say? Diebold has been a big Bu$hite contributor and supporter?
