- Failure to Lead, which has marked Republican/Conservative government since 1961, is manifest at every level, from the State of AZ under Gov. J. Fife Symington III's mismanagement of CPS (after winning the office by blasting Eddie Basha for believing that the state should protect children from abusers!) and his stripping the state of the resources to manage growth with adequate roads, infrastructure, schools etc, and at the same time passing do drugs, do time, that exploded the prison budget. To the national level, with Pres. Geo. C.N. Bush failing to lead America before 9-11 (remember he demoted the Anti Terrorism Official from a cabinet level position, to a sub chief under the NSA), after 9-11 demanding in the Situation Room that the CIA and FBI needed to find a link to Iraq, instead of leading the fight against our enemies whoever they were, remember Osama Bin Laden. He's also failed to lead us on enforcement of Immigration laws, protecting our national borders, failed to provide us with an actual plan for victory over Al Queda, or Iraqi Insurgents, or lest we forget them the Taliban in Afghanistan. Every organization from a Little League baseball team to the USA needs leadership that understands planning, goal setting, and the ability to appoint, or select people to execute those plans.
- Failure of Honesty, on every issue Kkkonservatives like to berate Liberals about, the words they speak are always meant to divert attention away from their own failings. The anti-homosexual rantings from Good Christian Republicans like Rev Haggard, Rep. Tom Foley and Speaker Denny Hastert (who's entire staff appears to have been young gay men, birds of a feather?) were meant to only divert attention away from their own activity after dark. The anti-immigrant rantings of Kkkonservatives Tom Tancredo and JD Hayworth would have resonated better if they'd had done anything to actually enforce our immigration laws in the years before 2007, or had gone after their own base at the Chamber of Commerce, who are the people employing these illegal immigrants. The anti-big government crowd was quite pleased to use the power of government to coerce the people to follow their morals and edicts from the Tower of Nod. Once in control of public education they foisted abstinence only sex-ed on America's children, backed faith based initiatives taking big government money to support private churches, and pushed through on a 3 hour vote really big government interference in the medical marketplace via Medicare Part D.
- Failure of Results, from the Fubar of Iraq , to the re-emergence of the Taliban in Afghanistan, to the Gulf Coast slipping away in a perfect storm of Republikkkan mismanagment, to Walter Reed Hospital, to the crisis bubbling in the real estate market brought on by Alan Greenspan and Geo CN Bush, the true values of Conservative Governance have been exposed for all to see; “Republicans will do anything to enrich campaign contributors, and everyone else is left to mercy of the free market.” In Iraq the private contractors, the big oil companies and the rich Iraqi nationals have all been well taken care of, the people of Iraq got purple fingers and left with as a best possible outcome the status quo for 8-10 more years. In Afghanistan, Western natural gas companies got a pipeline and a modern highway to safeguard their investments, the people living there are once again facing the Taliban ruling the Southern third of the country, ruthless warlords running the Northern Half, and 25,000 NATO forces propping up an “elected” puppet.
- Failure to Govern, This ties into the Repblicans need for a culture of corruption. The rest of the US economy can exist without bribes, but GOP businesses like Haliburton, and Bechtel need government no bid contracts to thrive. Most Americans accept a certain level of graft, corruption, and Good Ol' Boy networking in government, the mayors brother getting a contract, the state senator moving a line on the map to enrich his supporters. But the reason it is tolerated is because the grease that smooths the wheels should result in the “job” getting done faster, and better and last longer than the cheapest bid would have delivered. Under Conservatism, we've gotten all of the insider bribery, corruption and malfeasance, but without the smoother results promised by the “magic of privatization.” All these private contractors doing the rebuilding of Iraq, you'd think one of them could have fixed the plumbing and sewers of Bagdad! I mean sewers ain't rocket science. Crap rolls down hill, and so should sewers (this is based on Sir Isaac Newton's Theory of Gravity, which states that Gravitry is force that attracts two masses (I'm sorry to Liberals for explaining Gravity, but Republicans may be reading this still)). George Dubya Chuckle Nuts has ruled Bagdad for nearly 4 years now, and the city's water system is still broken, the sewers are still not functioning, and the city is lucky to get 4 hours of electricity a day. Look at the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast, oh wait, there is no work being done to look at. Because all the money is being pocketed by King George's cronies. Our healthcare system is broken, with more than 40,000,000 Americans w/o insurance, and the HMOs got Medicre Part D and will reap billions in extra profit while providing seniors less healthcare at a higher cost than Medicare.
When Conservatives blow hot air on any issue for decades to come they need to be asked, will they bring the same level of incompetence, dishonesty, poor leadership and lack of results in the future endeavor as they did in Iraq and post Katrina on the Gulf Coast? Why should we have a government that can't perform the basic functions expected from them? This is why the pendulum has swung away from the right in every district in the country, and why not a single incumbent Democrat lost reelection in 2006, for the federal level, or for any stae house or senate race.
