| People in general will pay attention to the Foley scandal because it's easy to understand; (unless of course you're on the right and trying to spin it to the left). One commentator over the weekend got it right. Cokie Roberts made the statement that the republicans were missing a valid point about the scandal. If in fact any of the conservative base decides to stay home on election day, it will be the mom's on the right. When you read one of the IM's that Foley was involved in, the young man say's "hold on, my mom's calling me." How do you dismiss that? Why is it that some of the right wing men and women don't get it? With this scandal, the so called "moral and values" group will have a difficult time trying to brush this off as pages "gay-baiting" joking, just having fun with a known gay congressman. Absolutely shameful! Republicans can no longer claim to be the party of morals and values. They are some of the WORST offenders; DeLay, Abramoff, Scanlon and choir boy Ralph Reed, plus many more. They will blame everyone except those responsible. It's just crap to hear the right blame, Clinton, Soros and the Democratic Party. |

| Foley is a sick son of a bitch and it is him who should be punished. The Dems didn't blame the Democratic party for Clintons misdeeds, nor will the rank and file Reps punish the GOP in general.

| Torpedoed, now that's funny. You should take that show on the road. You are trying to pin the sins of one man on the entire Party, well if that was going to work it would have manifest it self under Clinton's terms in office and it didn't, and it won't. You have to understand that the Republican Party is a storonger party than the Democrats. We don't "eat our own" like you do. We weigh out the facts and blame those who made the bad decisions. We know who has made mistakes and who has not and we will clean up our own mess, one person at a time. Today Congress enjoys a 60% approval rating within all the districts. If you ask "Do you like your guy?" the answer 60% of the time is "Yes". With the Republicans contrilling the majority it looks good for them.

| I'd like to see the link to that polling. [link:www.dailykos.com] Here's mine. Likely voters are giving the Democrats a 18% advantage for the midterms. Heck even WY's open house seat is up for grabs, and WY is a Republican advantage of registered voters of like 30%. The American people know losers when they see them. From Foley's Trousers to Katrina, from Bush's bike riding to his handling of Iraq this crew can't do a samn thing right. |

| We don't "eat our own" like you do. Really, have you been paying attention to the Foley scandal? The Republicans are throwing each other under the bus faster than the bus can move! We weigh out the facts and blame those who made the bad decisions. Like no WMD? Like "last throes of the insurgency?" Like "Iraqi oil revenues wil pay for the reconstruction?" Like we won't need 250,000 plus troops post invasion? Like "just some dead enders?" Like "we will be welcomed as liberators"? Well you should get the idea AA. Today Congress enjoys a 60% approval rating within all the districts Where in the world do you get some of this stuff? If the Congress enjoyed a 60% approval rating within all the districts , wouldn't it stand to reason that Congress would have a 60% approval rating? The only thing lower than Bush's snake head ratings is Congress' snake belly rating. |

| "On another measure, 60 percent of those surveyed in the new poll said they approve of the performance of their own House member. That compares with 49 percent in an October 1994 poll." As I said, 60% approve of their guy. Here's the quote above and here's the link below... http://freeinternetpress.com/story.php?s As of yesterday... |

Sir John: May I take this opportunity of emphasizing that there is no cannibalism in the Royal Navy. Absolutely none, and when I say none, I mean there is a certain amount, more than we are prepared to admit, but all new ratings are warned that if they wake up in the morning and find toothmarks at all anywhere on their bodies, they're to tell me immediately so that I can immediately take every measure to hush the whole thing up. Well, for me that line there is a three day weekend in Reno! -RIMSHOT-
No, but seriously, what the Foley Thing is doing is its putting into context everything wrong with the GOP.
Corruption- Abramoff, Duke Cunningham, etc, the Republicans can cry, the Dems are as bad as we are.
National Defense- Iraq is in the throws of a civil war, and all the GOP can do as squawk "Cut and Run! Cut and Run! Hello, polly wanna cracker!"
Incompetence- Iraq, Katrina, Afghanistan, the economy, all f'd up and no one is accountable.
But Foley is something every parent in the USA "gets". 1- A creepy old closetted gay guy is hanging out with teenagers hoping to start an affair.
2- The people who are supposed to protect these teenagers choose to cover up his behavior and leave him in place so as to not lose any of their political power.
Every parent has read the stories of the Catholic Church. We've all read about high school teachers fooling around with students, and administrators who chose to hush it up rather than get the bad press. Or Boy Scout leaders, or church youth group advisors, who sexually abuse minors and the organizations make the trouble "go away".
But most parents would prefer that if someone is preying on children, that the authorities take the perverts by the scruff of their necks, hold a short trial followed by an even shorter hanging and leave the carcass up to serve as an example to other would be pedophiles.
And anyone who would try to cover up the crime should get a limb next to the pervert. Or if it happens in a church setting, crucify them, since the dirty SOBs want to cover up their sins with the Bible, lets get Biblical on their Chester Molester asses.
And it all brings into focus the corruption, the love of power, the win at all costs bulls*** the Republicans have tried to foist onto the USA. Who the heck would tolerate a pedophile for political gain? The same sort of person who'd slime disabled veterans for being unpatriotic.
