Part 1
In just two years. Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
About two years ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a new Democrat majority Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soaring to over $4.00 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up over 5% (a 10+% increase);
4) American households have seen over $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by over $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) Over 2.5% of American homes are in foreclosure. 6+% recorded late on payments.
America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Remember it is Congress that makes laws, not=2 0the President. He has to work
with what's handed to him. If elected, Obama will just magnify this disaster.
Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics
enlightening and amazing.

Digg It!

And the numbers are still right wing distortions.
The Obama tax plan will not raise income taxes or payroll taxes on anyone in America earning less than $250,000. Period, so the statement that Obama will go back to the higher rates is a lie.
The reason people think things were better under Clinton is because jobs were plentiful, and good paying, relative to what they'd been the year before. I could quit my job at Chase, and walk into Discover or any other credit card, or bank and have a job in 1 day. At a higher wage, with benefits. The large demand for labor meant employers had to treat employees decently.
Now, that the employment rate has gone from 65% to 59%, of adults 25 to 55, and job growth is less than population growth, employers can create all kind of schemes, compensation plans, commission structures that screw workers, and the double digit inflation of healthcare wipes out any income gains and then some. Throw in that a gallon of gas was $1.35 in 2000, and has been in the 3.80-4.00 range for the last 6 months, then you can begin to see why the 40% of the poorest Americans are ready for a change.
